Notes for USB users
USB support on OS/2, ArcaOS and eComStation is limited to USB 1.1 and USB 2.0. USB 3.x is now supported by the Arca Noae USB drivers.
Two versions of USB support are available. The Arca Noae drivers are available as a part of ArcaOS or as the OS/2 Drivers and Software package. Alternatively, the USB support from Netlabs is free, if a bit experimental.
These are the Suntan Special applications providing usb support:
- anUSB - Arca Noae USB stack (you supply the Arca Noae file)
- lsusb - command line tool for manipulating USB
- setUSBfloppies - sets the number of drive letters for USB floppies
- setUSBremovables - sets the maximum number of drive letters per USB mass storage device
- usbaudio - installs support for USB audio devices
- usbcfg - installs USB configuration applet to setup directory
- usbecd - installs special USB interface for unsupported devices such as UPS and webcam
- usbhcd - alternative USB stack from NetLabs
- usbres - USB resource manager
- usbwav - installs support for converting audio streams to different sample rates
